Tropical Gourmet Jamaican Restaurant in Daytona Beach

I had the oxtails & Curry chicken dinner. The oxtails were old, tough and tasteless!! The cabbage was over cooked and tasteless. This food was not cooked today and as I was eating it my stomach began to turn. Even the corn muffin didnt taste fresh. For this matter it is surely overpriced. This was my first and last visit here, I dont reccomend. I should have turned around when I didnt see anyone in the restaurant.

Good food, small portions of everything except rice. They always forget to put cornbread and dumplings in the to go tray. Always check

Best Snapper in town !! Brown stew, eschovich, curry. Any style !! Anytime I’m in hungry I stop by here. They serve you a big piece of snapper and it’s fresh!! Highly recommend

Called order in but wasn't ready, orderd the special oxtail for $9.00 and confirmed by phone, but ended up $16 veggies were smaller not well Seasoned. Asked for hot sauce and was given less than small spot. Full. Go to kinfolks or soul food for your food, never again sorry

Delicious curry goat and jerk chicken! Pastries and standard Caribbean sodas. Lots of basic Jamaican seasonings, sauces, etc. for sale. Fast friendly service. Great music playing.

15.71 for a 6 pieces of oxtails!?!?!Thought there was more but it ended up being carrots cut likeIt was oxtails. Couldn't tell because it was covered with the gravy. It wasn't until I bit into it thinking it was an oxtail it was a freaking carrot.. not 1 but 2!! A scoop of cabbage and a scoop of mac and cheese. This place sucks. I will be going to Cool Runnings or Orlando for my jamaican food. At Cool Runnings, Caribbean Sunshine and Golden Krust you get way more for your money and not some BS 6 pieces of oxtails. Don't get me started on the customer service. Daytona they are screwing us! Don't waste your time.

I had curry chicken here and it was delicious. The chicken is so tender and had a good taste. The jerk chicken was ok. The portions and the price was reasonable.

The food was good I had curry chicken 🍗. My husband had oxtail. The quantity was smaller than most Caribbean restaurants but the flavor was good. They didn't have my favorite Jerk Chicken which was a little bit disappointing. Overall it was a positive experience. I also heard the cashier tell other patrons they didn't have other menu items.

I had the goat curry with roti. Very tasty. Nice portion and quick service. Clean store. They also sell some Jamaican products like spices and hot sauces.

Me an my friend went yesterday to get some food google said he open at 10:30 so we knock on the glass window he open the door in he was so disrespectful never again would I come back

Food was exceptional and very flavorful. Closest experience without going to Jamaica. Wide variety of cold drinks on hand to add to the delightful meal. Staff was very friendly and polite. Great experience! Highly recommend for some authentic food.

Jerk chicken- not good. not spicy no taste.. also what gives with the Jamaican restaurants giving out 1 chicken leg quarter and charging $12. Leg quarters are .59 cents a pound.,. to get a spicy jerk they add hot bbq sauce. Rice and peas also terrible. This was my 2nd and last visit. I only tried this because my regular place is temp closed "a better taste of Jamaica" and i didn't want to drive to their beachside location. This food is barely edible , blah at best. Also, not a big fan of them microwaving the sides in your Styrofoam container. my mac and cheese was half mac and have melted Styrofoam. I would hope they move away from styrofoam and use paper or something else that doesn't cause cancer. What a joke.

Mediocre flavor and limited selections.

Great browned chicken tastes similar to the oxtail sauce. Large portions. You'll sorta get sucked into taking your food out instead of dineing in. Large choice of Jamaican soft drinks loved the Ting!

Tasty food, big portions. Mostly used as takeaway, 4 tables inside. Good for lunch.

This place is a rip off! I purchased a dinner plate of oxtail. The dinner costs about $18 bucks, however they only serve you 4 pieces of oxtail. Not to meantion, a small amount of gravy was put over the tough rice. The amount of money you spend here does not match the quality or serving size of food. Small portions, for big bucks! Look elsewhere for better Jamaican food in Daytona.

The girl at the counter ignored me for several minutes because she was on her phone with her head down sitting behind the register. I'm glad that she ignored me now that I read the reviews it sounds like the food is terrible anyways. Maybe you should tell your employees to stay off their phones during business hours if you want to make money you sure lost mine.

Absolutely terrible service! The staff and the manager are horribly slow and incompetent! I am an honest review were, the guy in front of me also was given terrible terrible service. They are currently doing delivery, and are not prepared, not even close to being prepared as they should be. They don’t speak good English so communication was absolutely add it’s worst!! Will never ever step 1 foot in this place again! One of my worst experiences in 10 years.

Good food. New to the area and its the 1st decent jerk chicken we have had in years. Pleasant staff. We had a good experience despite reading the reviews. Just goes to show you should try it.
